Hello! I just watched “Period. End of Sentence.” and found it extremely moving. As I watched the hope and determination take hold in each of the female characters, I realized that this project is about more than menstruation; it’s about female empowerment. When girls and women have access to pads, they obtain the freedom to continue their education, the freedom to make their own choices, and the freedom to get their own jobs. This female autonomy destabilizes the patriarchy that exists, allowing for a society to realize its full potential. As a teenage girl growing up in America, I have witnessed the unequal distribution of political power between women and men. However, upon seeing this documentary, I realize that in developing countries like India, this divide in power is even greater, spreading past politics to society.
Thank you for raising awareness of such an important cause.
