Hello, My name is Mary. I am a 42 year old woman in California. Living in the United States my whole life I was fortunate enough to have access to pads or tampons as well as the education on why women get their period. Watching this documentary really made me step back and realize how many women out there aren’t able to have simple necessities, such as pads, or the understanding, for both men and women, why we get our period. Within the 26 minutes of watching this movie, I was on an emotional roller coaster. I was sad, happy, and excited. Watching these women become extremely embarrassed when asked about it and being told they can’t go to the temple and that their prayers won’t be heard during their period made my heart hurt for them. I was happy to see Shabana explaining it to women. These women are fortunate to have her and I hope she is able to reach as many women as possible to teach them. Arunachalam Muruganantham, I have a lot of respect for him. As a man, he stepped up and created a life changing item for women. His visions made so many women’s lives a little easier. I was excited to watch these women getting excited about pads. I never thought I would ever say that lol. These women are making a difference. They are going store to store, house to house, explaining how their pads are compared to other brands. They are determined and I see the passion and love in their eyes. I think men should be educated on the menstrual cycle. As much as they probably don’t want to, it can clear up a lot of misconceptions. One step at a time. Thank you for creating this documentary. I plan on showing my friends and I hope they can show theirs too. I think this will open so many doors for everyone that took part in it.
