Mathilde’s Story

Hello, My name is Mathilde, I’m 17 years old and I’m French. I had the opportunity to see on Netflix the report about your project and it moved me a lot. What shocked me most is the moment when the journalist asks men what are the periods according to them and one of them responds that he thinks it is a disease that affects especially the women. this shocked me and especially shocked because in our country everyone knows what are the periods and even if it remains a subject still a little taboo in France, we are all informed of what are the periods, which is concerned, how we should protect ourselves, we are taught even during our teenage years at school, girls and boys attend these courses and I find it very important that men and even more women understand why they have their periods and what is it because it shouldn’t be a taboo subject because it is very important. I find you are very brave women and admire you for that and I think that should not have been easy. I would have liked to make a donation but as I said at the beginning of this message I’m still only 17 years old so I can not give you a donation. But I still wanted to send you a message of support and encouragement and especially admiration. I hope that the periods will no longer be a taboo subject in the future and that we will be able to discuss it freely without being spoiled or even worse ashamed when it is a natural thing that allows life.

Goodbye, Mathilde
